The Masungi Georeserve – a 20-year reforestation project that is a product of people’s love of nature and wild life. Formerly a barren and dilapidated forest area surrounded by illegally logged trees and dying flora in the province of Rizal – it is now a unique facade of lush green canopies, blooming wildlife, and thrill-filled view decks that are probably a first in the Philippines!

Opened to the public last December 2015, it has gained popularity mainly because of the unique rope-ways along the trail. You would literally be walking above the forest via a hundred meter hammock while enjoying a beautiful view of the forest hundreds of meters below! This will definitely give you the chills running down your spine! It also features a giant web-like spider rest area with a beautiful view of the Rizal province and how nature rewards those that take care of it; elevated air houses; and even cactus gardens! Nevertheless, it presents the true face of nature that’s well cared for, and a trail perfect for everyone to truly enjoy the canopies!

TOURING THE MASUNGI GEORESERVE

Now the best part of touring the georeserve is not limited to just the view, but the experience of dangling above the reserve’s natural beauty! It’s better than just waching a drone do the sky view, it’s actually you hovering above the canopies!

***Note that the photos below aren’t necessarily in order. Enjoy the surprises and don’t forget to share!

They call this “Patak” (droplet), it’s both a creative and relaxing place to sit down and chill!

masungi10

Now if you ask me, this is one “hell” of a view!

masungi7

When we go up, we always expect to go way down after.

A view of “Tatay”, the highest area allowed for the public to ascend!

masungi11

But for now, there’s nowhere to go but down!

masungi9

I really appreciate those people who took care of this land for 20 years! Thank You for giving us something like this.
