Batangas is one of the largest municipaloties in the Philippines and yet most of it is still part of the unknown. The coastal town of Laiya, San Juan is the less known destination when touring the province most probably because Anilao has taken the scuba diving spot and Nasugbo has taken the resorts category. Another reason could be its accessibility since driving/commuting to Laiya is not as simple as going to other parts of Batangas. Join us as we rediscover what Laiya has to offer.

Enjoy the Beach

Laiya beach stretch would definitely bring you nostalgia. You could hang out and grill your food at the beach, sing karaoke, play beach volleyball, or just dip in it’s waters. It’s perfect for family bonding, outings, team building, and pretty much anyone who enjoys the sea breeze and being on the outdoors. You could also try renting a boat taking you to Laiya’s marine sanctuary and snorkle for more fun!

Resort Hopping

Go on resort hopping! With lots of high end resorts with different facilities to offer; ranging from swimming pools, indoor games (billiards, darts, etc), buffet lunch, kayak, massages, and many more – it’s sometimes a good idea to hop on one resort and splurge a little. And if you have the bread to check-in on one of these then that’s perfect as well!

Laiya Adventure Park

The newly opened Adventure park at Laiya features a lot of outdoor thrilling activities like zip lines, canopy walking, wall climbing, free fall, rapelling, and ATVs! And that’s not all, you could preferably plunge in their scenic swimming pools facing the hills! The best thing? All of these for low prices (see budget section below).

HOW TO GET HERE

Liaya is around 3 to 4 hour drive from Manila via private ride and could take you around 5 hours if you take it by bus (due to frequent stops). Regardless, it’s not a long journey and pretty much hassle free since it’s easy to tour around.

  • From San Juan terminal, either take a jeepney straight to Laiya or hire a tricycle.
